During Spring 2026, the American Cultures Center received generous funding from the Campus Advisory Committee on Student Services and Fees (CACSSF). The CACSSF funding allowed the expansion of the AC Center's cross-campus collaboration, community-based scholarship, integrating social justice into teaching/learning and research practices. The CACSSF support strengthened pathways for graduate and undergraduate students connecting their academic work with broader, complex and pressing social issues, while also reinforcing partnerships between campus and off-campus community organizations. Collectively, these efforts contributed to the advancement of emerging institutional priorities, including the development of structured approaches to enviromental justice and community-engaged learning, positioning UC Berkeley to respond more intentionally to the intersections of climate, environmental, social justice and public scholarship, and growing professional and career opportunities for UC Berkeley students.
