Summer Institute

About

Each year, the UC Berkeley High School Ethnic Studies Initiative supports high school educators across the state teaching Ethnic Studies through our Summer Institute. This summer, we are continuing the institute to equip high school educators with the tools, scholarship, and community needed to bring Ethnic Studies into their classrooms at a transformative level.

Hosted on the university campus, this intensive program brings together UC Berkeley faculty, Ethnic Studies librarians, and community organizers committed to advancing high school Ethnic Studies curricula. Participants engage deeply with core concepts, cutting-edge content, and collaborative curriculum design, while refining pedagogical approaches that reflect the evolving landscape of Ethnic Studies education.
