2-Step Tips and Best Practices

It can be difficult to upkeep digital hygiene, but one great way to get started is to use two-factor authentication. This resource provides support for setting up multi-factor authentication for Berkeley accounts. 

Teaching and Working in a Time of Technological Determinism

A part of the Teaching and Working in Troubled Timese Series, this collaboration between the American Cultures Center, Center for Teaching and Learning, and Division of Equity & Inclusion examined the presence of AI in campus work. Panelists discussed and explored what is at stake as AI shapes teaching, learning, and labor, surfacing dilemmas across intersecting structures of power, access, and survival.

Accessibility in Teaching & Learning

WIth constantly evolving regulation around ADA compliance, this page answers pressing questions around instructors' responsibilities to utilize, maintain, and share accessible content within their courses to stay in compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. The ADA Title II compliance deadline has been extended to April 2027 (previously April 2026), giving institutions an extra year to meet these federal standards.

Online Course Development Training

The Online Course Development Training is an entirely asynchronous online bCourses site that any faculty or staff member can join at any time. While it is designed primarily for instructors developing a fully online course for summer session courses, it can be used by any instructor to help them with developing a course map and instructional materials for mixed modality or in-person environments.

Best Practices for Activities Involving Minors

Summer courses bring a wide range of students to Berkeley classrooms, which can include students who are under 18. Risk Services has created this list of best practices and resources for programming with minors. 

Student AC Transit EasyPass

The BayPass card is issued to all eligible UC Berkeley students via a clipper card provided in tandem with issuance of the Cal 1 Card. Eligibility criteria are determined by the Office of the Registrar. Questions may be directed to Cal Student Central. 

International Summer Session Students Health Services

All international students attending a UC Berkeley Summer Session must have health insurance that includes medical benefits and medical evacuation and repatriation of remains coverage in compliance with their visa requirements. Please contact or visit the Summer Sessions for assistance with requirements and other resources.

Center for Support and Intervention

The Center for Support and Intervention is dedicated to advancing the wellbeing of students and the campus through a multidisciplinary approach to addressing harm and hardship on campus. CSI’s student-centered prevention, reduction, and intervention efforts are concentrated into three separate branches: Case Management Support, Violence and Harm Prevention, and the Collegiate Recovery Program, each offering specialized support programs and services to students, staff, and faculty.

Center for Teaching and Learning

The Center for Teaching & Learning empowers educators to imagine and create meaningful learning experiences at UC Berkeley. CTL programs and services are informed by the idea that effective teaching is learned and improved over time. Our offerings are available to any members of the Berkeley community interested in developing and enhancing their skill set. CTL is part of the Research, Teaching, and Learning (RTL) organization reporting into the Division of Undergraduate Education to serve the campus community. UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic

The UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic is a trailblazing interdisciplinary, public-interest digital security clinic within the University of California, Berkeley’s Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity. Through a model similar to university clinics in law and medicine, we train teams of students to help social sector organizations build the capabilities they need to proactively defend themselves against malicious governments, powerful corporations, hate groups, and extremists.
