Launched in 2019, The American Cultures Engaged Scholarship (ACES) Graduate Learning Community is a partnership between the American Cultures Center and the Public Service Center, funded in part by the Graduate Division. Students in the Graduate Learning Community have the opportunity to build community together while exploring the importance of and connection between their academic studies, teaching, and research and their community relationships and social justice efforts. Graduate students participate in a six session workshop series to discuss readings and hear from guest speakers on topics connected to navigating community-based work, community engaged scholarship, and the university.  At the final session, participants will share a reflection response about what they learned and what they see as next steps. Participants will receive $500 upon completion. If desired, after completing the program, participants can apply for a $1000 grant to support a continuing project with at least one other cohort member.
