On Monday, April 21, the American Cultures began its week of celebrations by having 1989 UC Berkeley undergraduates Jeff Chang (Stanford University), Rickey Vincent (UC Berkeley), and Mark Min (City Span) in conversation with current UC Berkeley undergraduate students including our AC Student Advisory Board: Wendy Hernandez, Destiny Iwuoma, Wayne Jopanda, Marcel Jones, Peno McLean-Riggs, Whitney Milligan, Austin Pritzkat, and Pavan Upadhyayula. They discussed the historical foundation of the requirement and its connection to the anti-apartheid movement. Unfortunately, we were not able to record the event, but we have put together a slideshow of the event with photographs, and historical images of the AC Requirement.
